The US Department of energy (DOE) recently proposed a new energy test program for light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs, which should be taken seriously by our stakeholders.
It is understood that the proposal clearly measured lumen output, output power and relative spectrum method to determine the associated color temperature. The rule also proposes a method of calculating the life of the LED bulb, which defines the life of the LED bulb as the length of the lumen maintained to 70%, and increases the efficiency of the LED bulb and the calculation of the color rendering index.
The United States Department of energy also recently issued a supplementary notice, revised the "life" is defined, to make it better with the "1975 energy policy and Protection Act" (Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975) in line with statutory definition. DOE proposed a new definition of "time of failure" to support the revised definition of "life". Interested parties can submit relevant comments, data and information before August 4th.
